Kids Invent! is the world's leading provider of innovation based learning activities that stimulate the creative interests and abilities of children ages 7-15. We develop, publish and distribute learning activities for after school, in school, home school, summer holiday and vacation camps, museum workshops, clubs and special event programs.

Kids Invent! Learning Activities foster learning experiences that are as engrossing and entertaining as they are educational. To achieve this unique blend of education, invention, and entrepreneurship. Kids Invent! has adopted the learning model used by Thomas Edison and thousands of other inventors, and applied it to learning for kids.

Professors Ed Sobey and Timothy M. Stearns developed the first kids invent summer camp as an outreach program for California State University, Fresno, California. Their goal was to stimulate learning by having kids experience the creative and entrepreneurship excitement that drives inventors. Interest at other universities, science museums, and schools throughout the US led them to expand the curriculum and distribute it through a company, Kids Invent!

The Programme Activities

21st Century Skills learning activities stimulate the creative abilities of children by having them design and build projects that involve solving of science and engineering problems, preparing simple business plans, and developing presentation materials. As they develop their projects, kids learn to present their concepts to other students, demonstrate their ideas, and think through the practical issues of design, performance, and functionality. With KI! Learning Activities, kids may also address the issues of marking pricing, and manufacturing cost of their concept. all KI! Learning Activities emphasize important principles in math and science while fostering the development of social skills that help kids learn to work with other kids in a variety of tasks.

21st Century Skills approach to learning is a more engaging and natural way for kids to learn math, science, invention and the process of transforming abstract ideas into tangible things. Through the inventing experience inherent in 21st Century Skills Learning Activities, kids are faced with practical problems which they learn to solve through observations, thinking, and experimentation. As part of the process, they also learn how to use tools and materials, how to manage time and work with others.

21st Century Skills encourages kids to continue applying their creative talents long after the conclusion of the learning activity. Kids take pleasure seeing their own ideas and designs work and so are motivated to keep working on their inventions long after class is over.

21st Century Skills is a unique learning program because:

Kids learn math, science, creativity, and entrepreneurship. Kids learn about the invention process so they may continue to invent even after the conclusion of the 21st Century Skills Learning Activity.
Kids work as a team to invent and develop their concepts. 21st Century Skills learning activities meets many of the California and US Science Standards!
Kids love the creativity-based, hands-on learning and gladly engage in the challenges of inventing everything from robots to radios.
Richard Feynman said, "What I cannot understand." At 21st Century Skills, kids create and, the process, they understand.
